Acceptance & Current Website Status

By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

Shanmaya currently operates as a product-discovery and preview-shopping website. Bag and checkout features are for preview only: payment collection and live order processing are not yet active. Adding an item to your Bag or completing the preview checkout does not reserve the item, charge you, or create an order.

Product Information & Natural Variation

We aim to present each saree clearly and accurately. Product descriptions, measurements, materials, colors, photographs, and availability are provided in good faith from the information reasonably available to us.

• Screen settings, lighting, and photography may affect how colors appear.
• Handwoven and handcrafted textiles may show small variations in weave, texture, motif placement, selvedge, zari, or finish. These are not automatically defects.
• Measurements are approximate unless expressly stated otherwise.
• Product-specific descriptions, labels, and care instructions take precedence over general website guidance.

Please contact us before purchase if a particular color, measurement, material, feature, or document is essential to your decision.

Authenticity & Documentation

Our sourcing, review process, and the limits of our representations are described in our Authenticity Guarantee, which forms part of these Terms.

We do not claim that every saree carries a Silk Mark, geographical indication label, weaver certificate, or other third-party certification. Any such mark or document will be identified only when it accompanies the specific saree and has been reviewed by us. A Shanmaya statement or product description is not a government or independent third-party certification.

Inventory & Availability

Many Shanmaya sarees are offered as a single available piece. Website availability may change without notice and an item shown in stock may become unavailable before purchasing is completed.

Bag placement does not reserve inventory. Once live payment is activated, an item will be secured only after successful payment and order acceptance. We may correct inventory errors or withdraw an item before acceptance of an order.

Orders, Payment & Acceptance

When live purchasing becomes available, submitting an order will be an offer to purchase. An automated acknowledgement will not by itself mean that we have accepted the order. Acceptance will occur only when we confirm the order for fulfillment or dispatch.

• You must provide complete and accurate billing, delivery, and contact information.
• Payment must be successfully authorized through the payment method shown at checkout.
• We may contact you to verify an order or request additional information.
• We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch because of unavailability, an evident price or description error, suspected fraud, payment failure, delivery limitations, or another reasonable operational concern.

If we cancel an accepted order after payment has been collected, we will refund the amount collected for the cancelled item and any related charge that must be returned. Refund timing may also depend on the payment provider.

Pricing, Shipping Charges & Taxes

Prices are displayed in U.S. dollars and may change before an order is submitted. The price applicable to an accepted order will be the price presented at checkout, subject to correction of an obvious error before acceptance.

Customers are responsible for outbound shipping charges. Available shipping methods and their charges will be shown before live checkout is submitted. Any applicable taxes or other required charges will also be disclosed through the checkout flow when purchasing is activated.

Shipping & Delivery

Our detailed Delivery & Returns policy forms part of these Terms. Unless a product or checkout notice states otherwise:

• Order processing is typically 1–3 business days.
• Standard delivery is approximately 3–7 business days after dispatch.
• Expedited delivery is approximately 1–3 business days after dispatch, when available.
• Delivery estimates are not guarantees and exclude processing time.

We currently plan to ship within the United States. You are responsible for providing a complete, secure, and deliverable address. If an accepted order cannot ship within the represented time, we will communicate the delay and provide any cancellation or refund option required by applicable law.

Strict, Exception-Only Returns

Because each saree is a unique or limited piece, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, color or design preference, appearance, fit, or other personal preference. A return request will be considered only when the item received is incorrect or was damaged in transit.

• Contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
• Provide the order number and clear photographs of the item, issue, outer packaging, and shipping label.
• Keep the item unworn, unused, unwashed, unaltered, and with its original packaging and any included materials.
• Do not cut the blouse piece, add fall or pico, remove labels, or expose the item to stains, perfume, or other signs of use.
• Do not send an item back without written return authorization and instructions from Shanmaya.

For an authorized and verified incorrect-item or transit-damage claim, Shanmaya will cover the authorized return shipping. After receipt and inspection, we may provide a replacement if available or a refund when an appropriate replacement is unavailable. Unauthorized returns may be refused. Nothing in this policy limits a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Customer Care Responsibilities

Please inspect your item promptly after delivery and follow any product-specific care label or instructions. Our Silk Care Guide offers general educational guidance, but it cannot account for every textile, dye, embellishment, zari composition, stain, or storage environment.

When uncertain, consult an experienced silk textile professional before cleaning, pressing, repairing, or treating a saree. Damage caused after delivery by wear, alteration, improper storage, cleaning, pressing, moisture, chemicals, or failure to follow product-specific instructions is not transit damage.

Permitted Website Use

You may use this website for lawful personal shopping and informational purposes. You may not interfere with website operation or security; attempt unauthorized access; introduce malicious code; scrape or copy content at scale; impersonate another person; submit false information; or use the website, its content, or Shanmaya branding for an unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized commercial purpose.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the website, Shanmaya, customers, or other users.

Intellectual Property & External Services

Unless otherwise stated, the Shanmaya name, logos, photographs, product presentation, designs, written material, and website content are owned by or licensed to Shanmaya. No content may be reproduced, republished, sold, modified, or used commercially without prior written permission, except as permitted by law.

The website may link to or later use third-party services, including hosting, payment, shipping, or social platforms. Those services may have separate terms and privacy practices. A link does not imply that Shanmaya controls or endorses all third-party content.

Website Availability & Responsibility

We work to keep the website accurate and available, but do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or current. We may correct content, maintain the website, change features, or suspend access when reasonably necessary.

To the extent permitted by law, Shanmaya is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from use of, or inability to use, the website. This does not exclude responsibility or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited, including applicable rights relating to misrepresentation, defective goods, or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and applicable federal law, without displacing any mandatory consumer protection that applies to you. Any dispute will be handled by a court with lawful jurisdiction unless the parties agree to another resolution process.

Changes, Severability & Contact

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in the website, purchasing functionality, policies, or applicable requirements. Updated Terms will be posted here with a revised date. Changes apply prospectively from the stated update date unless applicable law requires otherwise.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision once does not waive the right to enforce it later.
